Alley/Breezeway Construction Starts Tuesday, September 4th!
The downtown Alleyscape construction work on the 300 east block will be starting August 1, 2012. Our parking lot and alley behind our store will be undergoing an extreme makeover that, when finished, should be an improvement over it’s current state. Unfortunately, this will impact your parking when you visit our store.
There are alternative parking lots available for your use up and down the east and west side of Main. Additionally, street parking is available on both the east and west side of downtown on the Avenues, and Kimbark and Coffman Streets. Many of these streets have no restrictions; therefore they are available to park all day.
300 east block construction schedule:
August 1 – 31: parking lot closed for work (alley and breezeway will still be open)
Sept – Oct: parking lot will reopen and the alley and breezeway will be closed for work
Note: 1 row of the parking lot will remain closed Sept – Oct to allow for alley work

“Know Your Stones Part Deux” with Carole White
Friday, June 22nd from 6:30 - 8:00pm
Carole & Mary & Emma with Voices of the Stones, will be returning to the Lounge Saturday, June 23rd from 10am - 6pm for one of their spectacular trunk shows. We always have a great time when they’re here! They will have beautiful new stone strands, pearls, “Sea Glass”, and more!
As a special treat, Carole will teach an informational class about stone identification and their energetic properties the Friday night before the trunk show. The cost for the class is $20, and those attending the class will get to pre-view shop the trunk show right after the class! Carole is quite knowledgeable about the vast amount of stones out there and will bring everyone up to speed on how to identify what, and then delve into the energetic properties of the stones a bit more in depth than she did with her last class.
This is a great opportunity to get educated on those beautiful stones before you go into the back room and start your pre-view shopping! We will be providing refreshments for your evening of celebrating the stone! If you would like to take the class, please call or come in to the store to get on the class roster.

Rees expertise is portraits of people, pets, and homes. She works in oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, sepia tones, charcoals, pen and ink, and pencil. She also does CD music covers, murals, logos, sculpture, and art instruction. She will be on hand to entertain you by playing the tiple, a guitar-like instrument, and chat with you about her art. This wonderful class teaches you how to wrap free-form stones that have no holes as well as cabochons (flat back stones with no holes) using both a basic twist wrap and a more complex basket wrap. Fall Jewelry Creation
Ladies Night Out
Thursday, November 10th
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Join a few of our fabulous, experienced jewelry designers for an evening of relaxed, creative fun designing and making jewelry to update your style for the Holidays! Bring your ideas and sample images (if you have them) and we’ll help you create a stunning design with some of our fabulous beads & pendants that you make yourself.
You are welcome to bring your own merlot, chardonay or other beverage of your choice, along with munchies to share if you like. We’ll provide the beads, music and creative direction. The cost for the evening is $35 per person (includes a $15 Bead Lounge Gift Card to use for materials) which nets you at least one necklace and one pair of earrings plus a little one-on-one time with our designers. If you tend to have expensive tastes, like me, materials upgrades are available! Invite a few friends and come have a great night out!

This class will teach you how to make fabulous flowers using various glass leaves wired together to create the flower! These fun creations can then be used as pendants, earrings, brooches, ornaments and whatever else your creativity can come up with!

Salt Water Metal Etching with Russ Howard
Saturday, Nov. 5th - 10:30am - 1:30pm
Russ will teach you how to etch your own designs on copper, brass or nickel using a safe, non-toxic method that will open up a whole new bunch of jewelry design options for those of you who are looking for something new to add some pizzaz to your current jewelry creations!

Beading Basics with Laurie Parker Swenson
Saturday, Nov. 5th - 10:30am - 1:30pm
Learn the basic techniques for bead stringing including what materials to use for a professional look, how to crimp, select the right clasp and basic design layout. You will also learn some basic wire working techniques to make simple bails for making pendants from beads and the loop & coil for making earrings. Students should bring tools if you have them (chain nose plier, round nose plier & cutter). Students will receive a 20% discount on tools purchased at Bead Lounge.

Basic Wirework with Laura Humenik
Sunday, Nov. 6th - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
This class teaches you basic techniques for working with wire. You will learn which tools to use, how to use them, the various properties of wire, how to make your own jump rings, simple clasps, chain and more! Students should bring tools (chain nose plier, round nose plier, bail making plier, cutter) if you have them. Students will receive a 20% discount on tools purchased at Bead Lounge.

Join Heidi in this beginning Bead Embroidery workshop and learn how to make this sweet autumn flavored pendant! Heidi will teach you beginning bead embroidery techniques such as design layout, gluing cabochons, beading around cabochons, incorporating different kinds of beads and finishing and edging.
If you’ve been wanting to try Bead Embroidery, this is the place to learn it! Class size is limited to 12 people, so sign up early to reserve your spot in the class!

Just For The Fun Of It….
Halloween & Day of the Dead Jewelry Competition
Purchase a kit of pre-selected beads for $15 at the Bead Lounge and create your own Halloween or Day of the Dead masterpiece. Everyone gets the same beads, so you need to get out that spooky mojo of yours and show us what you can do!
Your piece must be submitted by Saturday, October 22, 2011. Winners will be announced at our 3rd Annual Halloween Reception on Sat. Oct. 29th from 2-6pm.
The winners will win a gift certificate for the Bead Lounge, have their designs displayed at the Bead Lounge for the 2 weeks following the competition and will be posted on our FaceBook page.
