We've got a....
in the store!
When Bead Lounge owner and master crystologist Patti Weber went to the
Tucson Bead Shows this year, we knew she'd be bringing back lots and lots
of beads along with some amazing rocks. She has an eye for the beauty in
their natural colors and forms combined with an understanding of the lore
(and lure) of gems and minerals as taught in many cultures. Plus, she's
really likes rocks. Every year, the shows in Tucson provide a huge outpouring
of the wares of thousands of merchants and bead artists. Patti is a diligent
shopper, and always comes back with tubs, boxes, and bags filled with beautiful
beads, findings and fibers, buttons and more. This year, as every year
so far, she certainly did her best, and now after hours of tagging and
sorting the store is filled with some incredible finds.
She brought back stone beads, glass beads, crystal beads,
metal beads, bone beads, wooden beads, acrylic beads,shell beads and pearls......
Plus, Bead Lounge now carries 250 colors of
seed beads in size 6 and size 11!
So as you can see, Patti brought lots of wonderful
beads.
  And she also managed to find
some wonderful rock and mineral specimens; enough so that we now have a
brand new case just for them!
One rock won't fit though--
She found a 140 pound citrine plate that she just couldn't leave behind.
It's not something that will easily fit in a shopping bag, however!She
had it boxed and brought it home from Tucson to Colorado. (She says it
had a definite effect on the gas mileage, too.)
It was incredibly heavy to carry in...but when we began to unwrap this
newest addition to the Bead Lounge, we could all see why she chose it.
It's not meant for jewelry--it's not even meant for normal coffee table
or bookshelf display. This beautiful chunk of citrine is now gracing our
front window at the store. Here it is in our Fairies & Crystals display.
